Local Area
"Amazing 4 bedroom house with lovely garden and swimming pool in a great location. The living area / dining room are a great size too, meaning we were comfortable as a group of 8. Kitchen has lots of everything and good facilities. Very clean and great value for money - recommend!" Ruth and Family (September 2020)
Eastwood House is situated in the heart of the delightful coastal village of Brancaster, North Norfolk. Brancaster is best known for its simply stunning beach stretching for miles, backed by gentle sand dunes and the famous links golf course of The Royal West Norfolk Golf Club. Seals bask on the creek edges, and children can safely paddle in the tidal lagoons. The tide goes out a long way revealing the shipwreck of the SS Vina (beware of strong tides and do not venture out!) The sand is perfect for sandcastles and picnics. Kite surfers provide exciting entertainment on windy days. Anyone who walks that little bit further will be rewarded with their own private stretch of sand! For those feeling energetic, the beach is about a 10/15-minute walk directly from the house, or public parking is available a few yards from the beach. Traditional ice cream and lollies can be bought from the booth on the beach.Opposite the house, is the newly refurbished Village Hall, with Bar 71 and Gurneys Village Shop and Post Office. The playing fields has a tennis court, table tennis table as well as a children’s playground.

The Ship Hotel is also a short walk away, serving excellent meals and pints! A trip would not be complete without tasting the famous mussels, in season when there is an ‘R’ in the month. A longer walk or short drive away, Brancaster Staithe has the Jolly Sailor and The White Horse – both offer delicious food.

Wildlife along the coast is abundant and accessible, Marsh Harriers wheel overhead along with Avocets, Oyster Catchers and Terns. Eastwood House is ideally located to access the bird sanctuaries of Titchwell, Thornham and Holkham. Hunstanton is a short drive away, as are the popular towns of Wells-next-the-sea and Burnham Market. Holkham Hall and Estate is worthwhile visiting too, with a variety of activities and events on offer.
